At first sight the amount of data on this CD-ROM can seem more than one can easily handle. We have provided several tools so that you can search for your favorite files in a number of ways...
On Location...
I personally enjoy the use of On Location for searching for my files the best. If you do not have On Location, you can purchase it from AMUG by sending $60.00 to AMUG, On location special offer at 718 E. Campbell Ave., Gilbert, AZ 85234 or calling your favorite mail order house.
With On location you simply type in a portion of the key word you are looking for and the key word will be found either in one of the text databases or on an individual file by On Location. You may then copy the selection to your hard drive for use.
PD PigOut!
This GREAT HyperCard interface for the AMUG CD-ROM can be found in the exclusive folder. HyperCard 2.1 is included for your use. With PD PigOut! you can search the CD-ROM for key words to find the file you want. You may also copy the file to your drive with this stack. PD PigOut! is a commercial product provided by MacWizards.
Text Searches...
Should neither of the two approaches above meet your needs you will find text files containing directories on each section in their appropriate topic folder in the Files folder on the CD-ROM. You can use your favorite word processor or text editor to view these files. You can find the Edit DA in the Get Info:Directory Tools:Text Directory folder if you wish to use it or the allfiles.db text file. This text file is almost 2 megs and contains a listing of all of the files in the files folder.
Compression...
Volume V contains only two compression types. Files will either be in compactor format or Disk Doubler 3.7 or not compressed at all. The applications to decompress these files are located in the AMUG CD:Files:Unstuffers folder in decompressed format. Use these tools for decompressing any of your files.
Remember the CD-ROM is a locked drive so all decompression will need to be done on your hard drive.
More Stuff...
There are thousands of files available on this CD-ROM so you will really have to go exploring to find them all. System 7, 7.01 and 6.07 are provided in the Goodies:Apple section along with some great HyperCard stacks. All the Apple Tech Notes are on board, great BBS tools are available in the Goodies Utility folder, Info on AMUG is in the AMUG Folder. Look around and have fun!

"Get Info" - Contains disclaimer, text directory, and database directory tools along with info on MacWizards.
AMUG Info - This folder contains the AppleLink notices, AMUG information stacks listing software available, over 2 years of new stacks, BBS info and much more AMUG inside info.
CD Setup - If you run a BBS this folder contains linking instructions and directories where necessary.
Exclusives - This folder contains PD PigOut and HyperCard 2.1 for naviagting through BBS in a BOX. You can actually copy the file from the CD-ROM to your drive after you locate your choice. This folder also contains the decompressed World Fact Book, Thesaurus and Shakespear stacks along with Second Sight exclusive BBS tools from Pete Johnson.
Files - This folder contains the twenty four topics of softwear and the thousands of files available in BBS in a BOX by topic. Text files on each folder are provided by date, name and tab delineated for your use.
Goodies - This folder contains Apple System Software, AMUG disk info and many great tools for sysops running a BBS.
